As we get ready to move forward to our second year. I feel its only right for me to thank all those people who believed in us before this was a reality!
Let me first start off by thanking Q (from world star hip hop) for reading my email I sent him *yes this whole dream of mine started with a simple email. When he recieved my email asking him how to get exclusives from Dj Whoo Kid back in 2005 he didn't blow it off but instead responded back with an opportunity for Me and Kenny to book after parties for the Anger Management Tour 3 with Eminem and 50 Cent. Which We were able to successfully book the official after party for Dj Whoo Kid in Las Vegas with Steve O from Jack ass and Stat Qua coming through for his birthday party.
When we came back from this experience we were fortunate to be able to assist Tyree Coleman with putting together a full day event in indianapolis called I Am Hip Hop to show the youth of indianapolis the true meaning of Hip Hop During this event I was able to meet some of naptowns hottest artists M.O.B.B. Muzik, Boondoc Saints, Ray E, Trillogy, and CMD.
When this was done I was blessed to meet Troy Julian Gipson a very well known and respected business man in entertainment business who took a chance in me and helped me get the rights to throw a party at the biggest club in indianapolis at the time called the savoy. This initial party we had Dj Panic on the 1's and 2's Jus_T as the host and a fashion show ran by Denisha Lange fashions and a concert with 10 artist. With the success of this initial show thanks to St. James, Double R, Keith Ragland, Markee Wilder and many others we were able to host 15 more shows like this.
The success of the shows assisted us with developing an extensive roster of artist and producers
from the indianapolis market. With this roster St. James and Sir Hart (Free Sir Hart) put together a mixtape with 65 artist and 15 producers to show unity in the city and to be used as a spring board to get Naptown national recognition for its talent. This Cd was nominated for a justo mixtape award last year for best street album and has been in the hands of people like Dj Drama, Dj Kay Slay, T.I., Big Boi, Jeff Johnson, Terrance and Rocsi to name a quick few.
While promoting the mixtape I was introduced by Braska to Fort Nox (nox 97) and Profluent (fleet Dj's) who showed me the power of the podcast. This podcast as opened several more doors that Me, St. James, and Kenny never would have imagined before it from Terrance Clayton (Bet) having us bring the first naptown artist to 106 and Park for freestyle friday (Moe Cheeze), To Dj Kut and Jus Bleezy inviting us to come to the Dj Tecnology conference in St. Louis, to Brandon Hinkle (Derrty Ent) having us come to last year’s Derrty Dj convention, to Dj Black and Caspa the Don having us come to Hittmenn Dj's convention in atlanta where we partied with Big Boi in stankonia studios and T.I. in CLub Crucial, to Jannie Jennings inviting to Chicago to speak at a conference where we met R. Kelly, Twista, and Crucial conflict, to developing a email blast with Legion M & M from Toronto where we introduced the world to Drake, and creating a mixtape series called Stop Beefin Start Eatin in Germany with Dj Rapture
I am telling you all this to let you know that if you work hard, stay consistent and most importantly believe in your abilities you too can achieve your wildest dreams like we have. Like Kay Slay told us take everything you do as a building process and realize even though you may not always get the outcome you desire if you continue to build eventually you will and then all the struggle and heart ache will be worth it!
Thank you for all your support and as always we would be nothing with out you!
Special Thanks goes to Dj Commando, Dj Smallz, Tj Djs, Tony Neal, Dj Emiliot, Dj B Jones,Dj Rob Stacks, Dj Scrill, Dj Bnasty, Coolvsratednext, OgcrazyEddie, Dj Kyung, DJ Paul Bunyon, DJ Arries, Legendgary, Dj D mitch, Dj Fusion Dj World, Dj Wreck 1, Dj Truuf, 1 Hundred Ent, and The Zulu Nation.
